We need more people to proofread parts of the Emacs 21 manual before
we make the release. There have been only a few responses so far,
and we need a lot more help to make sure the manual is good quality.

Here is the message that was posted around 10 days ago, which gives
the instructions.

We are looking for volunteers to proofread the manual of Emacs 21.
I've put a DVI file of the manual on

  <ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/unreadable/pretest/emacs.dvi.gz>

If you'd like to volunteer, please pick a part of the manual to check.
I suggest the following method to choose the range of pages to check:

Start with the number

  100 * MONTH + DAY

where MONTH is the month and DAY is the day of your birthday.
For instance, if you are born on December 10th, start with 1210.

Divide that number by 20, take the remainder, and multiply that
with 29:

  1210 / 20 = 60, rest 10
  10 * 29 = 290

The result is the first page to proofread in the manual; please read
29 pages starting from there. The first page will usually start in
the middle of a section; please include the whole of that section as
well.

Please report results to address@hidden, even if you find
nothing wrong. In reports, please give the name of the section or
subsection in which an error is being reported. Otherwise it may be
hard to find the text to correct.
