you're right. it's only a 'template' limitation ...
in antispam/template/defaults/preferences.tpl search for..
<input type=text size=2 maxlength=2 ...
and change it in ...
<input type=text size=3 maxlength=3 ...
(or more, of course, if you need more)
I guess 3 should be ok. what do you think about?
may be 4 should be better?
