My comments on my experience with PHP 4.4.0 were addressed generally to PGW 
developers and were not specific to your problem. I have little expertise 
with IMAP and am unable to help you with this problem.

However in response to your questions: "number" means I use about three or 
four of the applications in PGW (and mail is not one of them). "Low load" 
is a qualitative measure -- the system has about three active users.

It seems most of the developers haven't tested PGW under 4.4.0, so there 
appears to be no documented advantage to using it. The point of my message 
was that the changes between 4.4.0 and previous versions are relatively 
small, so it is reasonable to anticipate that there will be few or no problems.
