I want to be able to, say, enter a new contact through Thunderbird and
have it show up in phpGroupware. Entering contacts into LDAP (using GQ
browser) does not show up on the web (current SQL store is just copied
on write to the LDAP system, yes?). I also want to be able to write to
remote iCalendar with a client like the MacOS iCal, or Sunbird.
a) Thunderbird has no write access to ldap does it?
You're right. I didn't notice that.

Well, this is about where I thought it was. I was hoping that I might
have been able to stand something very basic up with client+web
immediately, just to have it available. But I think I'm going to put
that idea down.
I like the modular construction of this package. I like the flexibility
of being able to offer per-domain configured sites all running on the
same core logic. And this seems pretty solid through the web interface
(please correct me if I'm wrong!).
In the long run, what I really want is a native client with the full
functionality of phpgroupware and its modules. Who is talking about
building an xul client? I may be interested in working on something like
that.
