No, not better as a whole. But one way to support server based filtering and
out-of-office-replies. You can't do that which just any mailserver, as there
is no common definition or API; every MTA handles it in his own way. So to
get it going you will have to focus on one MTA.

Mind you that SAP-DB ist open source as well.

Plaese stop mixing up the persons and the company. Even if it's one of the
first OSS projects of the company, the people working here have experience
in this field.

With or without an question mark and the end of your sentence? Anyway:
there's no contraditction between OSS / GPL / FSF and the commercial market.
