Please note that there are a lot of people in the world who
don't send spam but use 8 bit chars.

Well star ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/star/alpha/
supports POSIX.1-2001 extended headers and you should be aware of
this fact as you are on the opengroup standards mailing list where
the implementation of star has been discussed in mid 2001...
