Debian/Ubuntu users: Have your say

If you do not use Debian/Ubuntu the following is not relevant (at
least not now).

The below is for Debian, but it is highly likely that Ubuntu will
adopt the same strategy.

I was just alerted to:
http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg903340.html

If you are a Debian user and you want to have your say on how the GNU
Parallel should be installed per default, you should probably read
that and respond to it on debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org.

Renaming the binary GNU Parallel to gparallel will have make running
jobs on remote machines not work as the program is expected to be
called parallel.

Having --tollef as default will make ::: become -- thus the examples
including ::: will not work.

Having the GNU Parallel package conflict with the moreutils package
will cause conflicts when trying to install GNU Parallel with
moreutils installed. Personally I would prefer this over the other
solutions, but you should have your say.

Also the term "newcomer" is ambiguous: GNU Parallel is considerably
older than Tollef Parallel (in moreutils) - see
http://www.gnu.org/software/parallel/history.html
