First of all try to type this in your terminal and see if u have any ttyUSB there u should receive 1 if u have nothing but your airframe connected:
ls /dev/ttyUSB*

Also make sure u followed the steps to add the 50 udev rules to your system, the guide to this can be found at:
http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Installation

Last but not least check the FAQs it may be helpful for u. especially this:

I have successfully uploaded the microjet airframe to my self-made Tiny 1.1, but I can't get any confirmation that any actual data communication is happening after that.  I'm using a USB cable to upload the airframe, then unplugging the Tiny, then plugging it back in, then plugging in the USB to the computer again.

Here's what I get when I click "EXECUTE" in the paparazzi center:

Run '/home/ben/paparazzi/sw/ground_segment/tmtc/link  -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 57600'
Run '/home/ben/paparazzi/sw/ground_segment/tmtc/server '
Run '/home/ben/paparazzi/sw/ground_segment/cockpit/gcs '
Failure("Error opening modem serial device : fd < 0 (/dev/ttyUSB0)")
Broadcasting on network 127.255.255.255, port 2010

DONE (exec /home/ben/paparazzi/sw/ground_segment/tmtc/link  -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 57600 2>&1)

So, in trying to just get some communication back and forth I wired up my Aerocomm 4790 and when I have it plugged in, it will at least not give me the Failure("Error opening modem serial device : fd < 0 (/dev/ttyUSB0)") error, but, I don't seen any evidence of actual communication... the GCS is just black and there are not messages.

I can also get the failure to go away if I plug in my flashing FTDI cable.. (the one I used to flash the bootloader), but still, no evidence of communication.

Any ideas on how to debug this?

Thanks very much in advance for any hints!

-Ben Despain
