For the past two days, every time I try to post a message to a
newsgroup, Pan responds with this error message:

When I click OK in that window to clear it, Pan crashes entirely.

Am using 0.140, Chocolate Salty Balls for several years now without
problems, but suddenly this.  Anybody have any idea what could be going on?

Are you still running 0.140, or did this start to occur after an upgrade?

If you are still running 0.140 it is possible that your cache directory has become somehow corrupted. Pan has had problems with this on and off, mostly due to external influences and AFAIK the only thing to try is to copy your ".pan" folder out of the way, and start deleting aspects of the cache until it comes back to life. Or of course, move ".pan" out of the way, start with a fresh config and see if it re-occurs.

I will take quick look at the gmime versions as suggested by Duncan, just in case.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Steve
