[Pan-users] Getting going

I have a new Linux system on a new hard disk and have
installed pan again. I pointed it at eternal-september.org and
that works, sort of - I do get the ng's for ES. But none others.
I suppose I have to somehow make myself known to ES and be
accepted; how do I do that? There must be some setting in pan,
but I can't find it. Any help would be welcome.
