FWIW...

Those colors aren't too far from mine. I took a screenshot for a kde list
discussion recently. Here it is. Pan is shown in the middle. (Moderate
NSFW warning due to the swimsuit model firefox skin in use.)

(The screenshot's big, full size desktop with three 1920x1080 monitors
running in stacked config, so 1920x3240. So you'll either need to shrink
to window size or to pan (the verb not the app =:^) quite a bit to see it
all, unless your desktop's even huger than that.)

The discussion was on my superkaramba output, the top screen, pan's on
the middle one, and my (also-gtk2-based) feeds-mode claws-mail instance
is on the third, with a web page open (in the gtk2-based firefox) behind
it, visible thru the semi-transparent claws-mail feeds window in front of
it. The two bottom monitors are 42" TVs, while the top one is a 21"
monitor, thus the reason superkaramba's fonts are configured so big,
relatively speaking.

Contacts are part of the reason here. White or too light backgrounds
glare (star-effect). The other part is that being from the CRT
generation, for years I ran CRTs at the highest resolution I could get,
which meant low refresh-rates, and white/light backgrounds BLINK at low
refresh rates on CRT. So I developed an even stronger preference for
dark backgrounds than I've have had with just the contacts due to the
refresh rate issues of light backgrounds at resolutions really too high
for the CRT hardware they were running on.

Meanwhile...

It's not clear from your post whether you had a problem yourself and
didn't mention what it was, or whether it was simply in reply to Maurice,
showing pan on mint, but as a new thread not a followup to his (possibly
because you're reading the list digest not the full list, since digest
mode makes followups to thread with appropriate message-id references in
the header difficult if not impossible).

So if you had a problem you needed help with, what was it?
Alternatively, if this was just a reply to Maurice, please make that
clear. =:^)
