Yes, thanks. With today's commit d454a36 the header compression checkbox seems to be honored as expected. I've been seeing different problem lately when I change a backup server from 1 connection to 0 (for testing the primary server): pan segfaults when I exit the edit newsservers dialog box. I haven't bothered getting a backtrace yet but I could if you're interested. Seems the server you are using has no trouble with "bursting" when fetching compressed headers, unlike my server. Mine is super-cheap, so I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't world-class in every way, but they don't charge extra for fetching headers anyway :)
