        ... And sure enough, it pops up behind the gnome terminal. So it 
still looks to me as if what I have, 

Terminal alpine -url %s

should work; but I admit I don't know what either that "-url" or the "%s" 
is doing there ...

        Might I need to close and re-open Pan?? Or log out and back  in??
