You can sort–of do this with a source code patch mentioned in
Bug #403797 <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403797>.
Please read the comments and note it is a “proof of concept”
only, not supported, etc.
I have been using this patch ever since r207 as I mentioned
there-in. I am at r364 now and it still works quite well,
altho it might need re-adjusting these days. (I use gmane to
monitor & post to this group/list, hoping my RFC headers will
show thru with a bit more detail how modified my pan2 is here:
the User-Agent line should show all the custom patches I have
applied so far [bug–report numbers]. ;) )
At least Mr Kerr took note of this enhancement, so there is
hope it can be rolled–in at some point. (btw wow it will soon
be Two Whole Years since then!)

I think -devel is for actual development.
