On my box, the dropdown menu Terminal -> Set Character Encoding
defaults to:
Current Locale (ANSI_X314-1968).
What do I need to do to cause it to default to Western (ISO 8859-1) -
which is currently present as an option? Can I safely delete all the
other options and thus force the Gnome terminal to use it as the only
remaining option?
