Could be the virus/worm indeed.  The messages finally came thru here,
long after they came thru on the mailing list, which was awhile after I
posted..  Seems there's lag in more than one spot right now.  I'm used to
being able to post my message, refresh the group, and having it there,
when on a news server, tho I knew the list lagged occasionally when I was
getting it by mail. Obviously I'm going to have to get UN-used to it,
working this way, because there was a lag in it showing up by mail (which
I'm still getting during the transition), and ANOTHER lag for gmane to
pick it back up and post it here.  I GUESS that's the way it does
it.  IOW, rather than posting here directly as it mails it, it mails it
and then posts it when it shows up thru the list, but right now, that's
meaning TWO lags, tho U R likely right, it's probably worse right now than
normal due to all the viruses.

Anyway, at least now I know it's working both places, tho it may take
awhile.
