Yup.  That did it.  Thanks.  Of course, now I remember seeing the discussion 
of this a bit ago.

Since installing GNET got it working, I didn't think to review the output from 
autogen.sh to see if this was still there.  Well, I did, but not until after 
I'd already typed 'make'. ;-)
