[Pan-users] 0.13.3.90 and signature files

My status log is showing messages of the following nature:

Could not convert signature file '/home/bdm/News/Pan/bdmsig' to UTF-8.
Signature must be in 'iso-8859-1'

Now my sig file is in plain ascii text without any kind of headers or
other stuff in there.

What is Pan trying to do with it? My posts are now going out without
sigs.
