coming from Agent on lose32, I had the same issue with the interface.
mostly I've just gotten used to it; but yes, I'd prefer that selecting the
group from the grouplist, or the header from the messagelist, would cause
the next level down the heirarchy to automatically go to that group or
message. (don't download anything, or automatically change to that level of
the hierarchy tho; that's the difference between single-click to open and
single-click to select). You only should notice the change when you switch
to that tab. (tho I suppose if you view things in the paned view, you'd see
it change).

agent was blazing fast, even on a P166 with 32MB; so it can be made
computationally very cheap.
