It's a two-parter now, to clean up code, reduce menu clutter,
and try to add new functionality at the same time... take a
look at the Edit menu, it's got new selection options & accelerators.

So you hit ctrl-d, j to select subthreads and flag them, or
shift-d, j to select entire threads and flag them.

Previously there was no fast, keyboard-friendly way to differentiate
between subthreads and entire threads.
