With the old (old gtk, I mean) pan you could customize menu shortkeys by
selecting a menu entry and then press the desired hotkey (is that still
so?) [hoping brian morrison is reading, he asked in the other thread]

But on topic here: imho if the toolkit forces such choices on the
program, the toolkit is in designed the wrong way, imho. Pan could
probably get around this by having window/pane-get/loses-focus callbacks
that (un)install keyb shortcuts. But then, this would most probably be a
horrible maintenance headache.

Just to say I like the way I have it now, with many
no-modifier-key-shortcuts.
