ergh, that's a leftover from ILM's internal build system.  It
shouldn't be necessary and we certainly won't be using it in the
future.  By default (in lieu of any PLATFORM_* defines), the code should 
compile for GNU/Linux and GNU/Linux-like platforms.

In the OpenEXR source dist, PLATFORM_REDHAT_IA32 is only used in a
couple of regression tests... I'll need to go clean this up at some
point.

Places where a particular platform needs help, e.g., Windows, still
need PLATFORM_WINDOWS etc.
