[Openexr-devel] gcc requirements

hi all,

does anyone know for a fact if the OpenEXR libraries will build
properly with gcc version 2.95? (redhat 8).

i'm hoping to get this answered before i try to 'downgrade' my
gcc version, which seems like a very non-trivial process.  i
need to do this in order to have the libraries play nice with
other libraries that were built with 2.95.  the ABI has changed
from gcc version 2.x to 3.x and this causes problems for me.
