Follow-up Comment #2, task #14603 (project octave):
I've made an initial commit, containing demonstrations of:
- keeping compiled code compatible with several Octave versions,
- safely specifying additional library directories for linking by mkoctfile,
- providing a package manual,
- deriving new types from octave_base_value.
It also contains the root level Makefile.
