Follow-up Comment #3:

This patch is large, is probably a welcome addition, but unfortunately no
longer applies cleanly to the current anova function in the statistics
package. No wonder after 8 years.

Pascal, if you are still interested in getting this change into Octave, I'm
sure the statistics package maintainer would be interested in applying it. If
you want to rebase your changes on top of the current anova function, please
do and we can reopen this.
