Follow-up Comment #26, patch #8943 (project octave): Philip, you are probably hitting bug #41277. I reduced the number of patches for the isosurfaces in some of the demos in the newest changeset here (file #37960). That is only a change to "light.m" so you would not need to re-compile if you wanted to try whether that helps. The changes you would need to apply are in lines 250-286 in "light_update1_v6.patch".
