Follow-up Comment #21, patch #8990 (project octave):

Ok, here is what I have done:

1) I have provided a dedicated icon and CSS class for homepage links.  Both
generate_html and project have been modified.  The icon comes from the Tango
icon theme, which is in the public domain.

2) I have implemented support for multiple URLs, assuming "," as a delimiter. 
Currently, the links are labeled "Homepage" if there is only one link, and
"Homepage #1", ..., "Homepage #n" if there are several.
