I'll try right away

BTW in the last weeks it occurred to me that it's not only structs that don't
work (yet) - also Java objects and any Octave objects (incl. classdef) fail.
Same for stuff like graphics handles. 
Maybe all of those need to be catched (in openvar?) as long as they don't work
before the VarEd attempts to display them.
