Follow-up Comment #6, patch #8006 (project octave): If you haven't been throwing out your changes, you can use "hg import --exact the_patch" to apply the patch at the exact commit where it was created (so that there can be no failed hunks). Then you can modify the patch with "hg commit --amend" to fix the patch and/or "hg rebase" to base the patch at a new commit.
