I want to check whether some of the core gripe_XXX functions are used in
Octave-Forge packages. Is there an easy way to grep through the source
code? Or do I have to download and install each package individually?

A quick try with google
        gripe site:http://sourceforge.net/p/octave/
did not find matches in the code.

I suggest to clone all mercurial repositories, the few git repositories,
and the svn repository to do a local grep for better accuracy.

Is there a way we could create a package that contains all these other packages, just for convenience? It would be nice if I could say "check out all of Octave Forge" in a single command and also be sure that I have everything.
