MXE-Octave with binary-packages

Good afternoon,
We have built a 4.0.0 MXE-octave for a native linux system, we used the flag
for --binary-packages.
We have built also some of-*** packages, they seem to be built and
compressed on "tar.gz", they reside on [MXE-OCTAVE-HOME]/usr/src/.
That is the normal behaviour? They can somehow be decompressed/loaded easily
on MXE-octave?
