Juan,
One change I would make to your patch is to follow the Octave coding
convention of having parentheses around the condition being tested in an if
clause.
+ if dx < 1
+ dx = 0.5;
+ x_origin = 0.75;
+ endif
=>
+ if (dx < 1)
+ dx = 0.5;
+ x_origin = 0.75;
+ endif
Otherwise it looks fine.
