Hi,
thanks for the reply. I have not tested the package under cygwin and since
you went around the package installing process, there is another makefile
you should use/modify: 

ltfat\thirdparty\Playrec\Makefile_unixoct

This will give you the missing playrec.mex provided correct version of
portaudio lib is installed. The portaudio lib should provide the
Pa_Initialize function. Some versions of portaudio does not have it.

You slould also set octave path to find playrec.mex.

Please let me know whether it works.
