We should consider these blocker bugs.

If we can't make this release with the GUI working on Mac OS X and
Windows, then we shouldn't make it at all. The GUI should be our major
release goal.

I'm doing a Octave builds on Mac OS X.VIII and X.V, and I'll start
attacking these bugs.
