Why remove? Doesn't it work anymore with current Octave releases?
IMO we had better wait dropping this package until the GUI is sufficiently
ready, as AFAIK the GUI has more support for translations. Until that time
it is not in the way (uhm, my way).

I'd rather have an Octave-Forge category "Deprecated packages" where
packages-to-be-removed are put on hold for -say- a year or so, or until a
next stable release of Octave, before archiving them.

Can you see how many times pt_br has been downloaded, e.g., during the last
year?
