Yes, I did, for the exact reason that was mentioned above by Bob and Ben :
these tests are useful, among other things, to test that the assertion "if
it runs in MATLAB then it should run in octave" is valid now /and will stay
valid in the future/.

Please note that I'm not at all suggesting that anybody should be "rewriting
Octave code to make sure it runs in Matlab". My point is only about /tests/
(more specifically, the ones that test features which are supposed to belong
to the "Matlab-compatible subset" of Octave).
