You mean "qmake where the *.pro-file is". It is safer to use qmake-qt4 though, since using plain qmake may lead to errors on systems that have Qt3 and Qt4 installed in parallel. John, if you have some time to chat I would show you how to work with git on github, it's really, really easy and provides a great structure to manage open-source projects (including things like online commit graphs and other neat statistics).
