John should choose, i agree! but it will be good to see what people think.
Regarding the script it is almost impossible to write sth that generates the
icon (only a circle with \infty could be generated). But i do not see the
reason for that. I checked all of my mathematical software and it is only
MATL*B that does it ((wx)maxima, scilab, freemat, etc). There two major ways to
do a logo (in our case): (1) use gnuplot (through Octave, which i do not like
as a logo creation software and the logo has no graph to generate) (2) use
artistic software! After all very few applications can reproduce their logo. I
do not see why Octave should be able.
