Leonardo, I am the one, of your many responses, who mentioned Convex Optimization. I have learned 2 things since then: 1. The current code that they have (under GPL2) allows "installation" into Octave as an option. 2. They (mainly Michael Grant) and some Octave developers have been "talking." You will likely hear about this from other Octave developers.
