But we do, in liboctave/sparse-base-chol.cc, liboctave/CSparse.cc,
liboctave/dSparse.cc, liboctave/oc-sparse.h.  Also, the file
src/DLD-FUNCTIONS/spchol.cc uses METIS_VERSION.
