Follow-up Comment #57, bug #56232 (project octave): With this third patch, the warnings are triggered for the singular diagonal cases. It remains: 1) how to trigger the sparse hermitian case (to test it and to understand what mattype.ishermitian() is) 2) decide if we want that inv(zeros(2)) returns an error. I was initially in favor, but maybe in this case it is better to preserve the compatibility with matlab.
