Follow-up Comment #13, bug #40444 (project octave): The comparison of QStandardPaths is convincing. But then I don't get why QSettings uses %APPDATA% or ~/.config but in QStandardPaths, ~/.config and %LOCALAPPDATA% have the same purpose.
