Follow-up Comment #3, bug #52842 (project octave):

I tested with Matlab and "color" none means the text object itself is not
displayed (no background even if "backgroundcolor" is set).  It's basically
like toggling the "visible" property.  Hence, the axes object should ignore
the ylabel if its color is "none" when figuring position.
