Follow-up Comment #17, bug #55481 (project octave): To make sure that we are talking about the same thing in demo light 5: Are you referring to the outline of the specular reflex (the bright white spot)? I'd say that outline is shaped slightly differently because Matlab seems to use a different algorithm to generate the faces for "sphere" (better visible in "demo reducepatch").
