Follow-up Comment #41, bug #55187 (project octave):

@Mike: Is the resolution for this bug report an M4 macro in m4/acinclude.m4
that tries to run qhelpgenerator on a sample file?

I don't necessarily like to do version checking, but it would be easy.  I ran


 /usr/lib/qt5/bin/qhelpgenerator -v
Qt Help Generator version 1.0 (Qt 5.9.5)


Could grab the Qt version number with sed as a quick solution.
