Follow-up Comment #18, bug #51884 (project octave):

Matlab does not say they use the Lam book for the thicken operation, they only
say they use the Lam book for the thin operation. And while Octave's
implementation of thicken uses thin behind the scenes, we don't know if
Matlab's implementation does the same. Also, I have spent many hours
implementing algorithms from the references in Matlab documentation to know
that it's often bullshit.
