Follow-up Comment #15, bug #49119 (project octave):

I tested the attached change, which just adds an internal setting instead of a
user-visible setting. But this can be extended to a user setting if someone
likes.

However, I see a problem with this.

Running 'test libinterp/corefcn/debug.cc-tst' works, no files are opened in
the editor. However, running 'clear all' after the test command returns
results in 'quantile.m' and 'set.m' being opened in the editor, I'm not sure
why that is.
