[Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #54237] 'abs' function template hack in pr-output.cc is not portable

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #54237 (project octave):

Attaching the patch I provided in bug #54217 as a workaround to compile
pr-output.cc on Solaris.

If we need to keep this hack, maybe a combination of renaming the function and
declaring it for only the sized integer types (int8, int16, etc) would fix
both of these problems, untested.
