thank JohnD, that fix in comment #2 works.

However, cross-building of-control still doesn't work due to;

Must be related to the recent fix for bug #39000 I suppose.
I fixed it by adding "-lxerbla" to the various mkoctfile references in the
Makefile but I'm unsure if that's the right fix.
