Follow-up Comment #4, bug #54053 (project octave):
I was starting to look into the manual sources to add references for the
keywords.
I found the XREFpersistent example but
doc persistent
does not work on my system (Ubuntu), neither does
doc keywords
So what has to be done to add "doc" references?
